Membership
The majority of associations were created between 1990 and 1996 with an acceleration after 1994 when many organisations were set up to respond to various needs created by the war and genocide. This is the case of associations to protect widows and Genocide survivals, non accompanied children, vulnerable persons etc… Old associations had better strategic themes such as defence for children's rights, participation in decision making economic power…
Out of 27 Associations which constitute this report, 40% do not have legal personality. It is especially Associations which were born in countries of Asylum of old refugees and those created after the 1994 Genocide.
Other differences exist yet among members of the collective normally in ressources mobilisation capacity. It is in this perspective that Pro-Femmes has set up an institutional reinforcement programme for the collective and member associations.
